Ranking
this is jus somthin that i just thought of and i dont know how others feel about it but in the game the ranking in guilds is vary "general"lol
i mean this as in
------
Leader = 1
------
Officer = 6 (i think >.< lol)
------
Members
------
i thought that it might be pretty interesting to involve a involved ranking system, sorta like the idea from the *sunspears* in night fall (general, let. sargent and others like that) of coure it is a touchy issue because if it is to fucused on it would be more of a milatary game than a mmorpg.
basicly i think it would give members that join a guild more of a reason or push if you will to strive in the guild as in helping fellow guild members as far as money or questing. well i hope this was ne good thx for listning.

what other ranks could there be?
this isnt "wow" the rank system is fine. only reason for officers is they can start a guild battle without leader in group.

The reason is to make people feel important. Or people just need to stroke their egos maybe.
As an officer people are always whispering me to promote them, I whisper back "why?", they reply "because I want to be an officer", I whisper back, "why do you want to be an officer?", they reply, "don't know". Most of them don't even know what an officer can and can't do.
For the majority of Guild Wars players they will play Guild Wars no differently if they are an officer or just a member of a guild, but still they all want to be one.
So this would basically be giving these sad people something to boast about.
"Hey I'm a general in my guild"
"cool do you manage tactics and organise GvG"
"no lol I farm"

I usually don't want to bother being an officer. If I'm in a good guild and not expecting to have to kick someone, then it wouldn't matter if I'm an officer or not. But inviting someone to the hall as a guest can be fun.

QFT, I was a leader, an officer, and now just a member (way better to be imo , never get bugged!), that's exactly like it is.

I do not support this idea. Like Carth said, it would give one more reason for people to want to be an officer without knowing why, other than having a title to show off. (I'm writing as a GL myself.)
I also believe it to be fundamentally unfair. Any other title in the game, can be achieved with enough dedication and hard work.
This title proposed here would not be achievable by all, simply because it is not even up to you, it is up to another person to bestow (promote) you. (Unless you leave your guild and make your own. )

I see no reason to add these "ranks". The system works as it is, and as Carth said, it only serves as making people feel more important.

yeah, and members will be disappointed with their low rank, and cause guild drama.
(*Just upgrade their rank then!*)
Well, what's the point in having ranks when everyone has the same one?
